Despite the gloomy overcast Sunday skies, Proctor Speedway forged ahead
with it’s twice postponed 2015 season opener despite an intermittent light mist.
The weather outlook no doubt played a big part in keeping the crowd and car
count less than it could be but 67 competitors came to give the three eighths mile
clay oval a try.
With the early start time of hot laps at 5 p.m. and racing at 5:30 qualifying, heat
races were finished by 6:55. Some track preparation was needed and feature races
began at approximately 7:20.

Fast Lane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series

FastLane Super Stock Series Points Fund Gets Boost

by Nick Gima

Ashland, WI — The AmsOil Speedway, ABC Raceway and Proctor Speedway are proud to announce that there has been a generous increase in the overall points fund for the upcoming FastLane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series.

The three-track, three-race weekend series will open on Friday, June 19, at the big 4/10th-mile AmsOil Speedway in Superior before moving on to the 3/8th-mile ABC Raceway in Ashland the following Saturday night. The final round of the Series will be held on Sunday, June 21, at the 1/3rd-mile Proctor (MN) Speedway.

WISSOTA-sanctioned Super Stocks are invited to compete over that weekend for a chance at nearly $11,000 in feature purses being offered by the three Northland race venues, as well as a share of a final points fund that has now grown to over $7,000, to be paid out to the top ten in final points at the completion of the weekend.

The Series champion is now set to take home a whopping $1,475, to be presented by Halvor Lines. Any driver finishing in the top ten in the final Series standings will claim a minimum $250 from the points fund, and if a single driver should happen to post the feature wins at all three tracks during that weekend, he or she will be awarded an additional $700.

The Series will also offer a $100 “participant non-qualifier bonus” for every driver who finishes outside of the top-ten in Series points but competes at all three tracks during the weekend. A “hard charger” bonus of $100 will be paid out to the driver who advances the farthest from his starting position in each feature, and another $100 bonus will be paid to the driver who gains the most positions cumulatively in all three features.

“We would again like to thank all of our great sponsors for this event,” stated Series organizer and Proctor Speedway president Dennis McCauley. “If it wasn’t for all this great support, this Series would not be possible for our Super Stock drivers and fans.”

Series sponsors include FastLane Motorsports & Powdercoating, Lulich Implement, Northern Clearing Inc, White River Ag Products, Total Recreation, Arrowhead Printing, American Family Insurance-Nick Korhonen Agency, Bob’s South Tower Service, VIP Pizza, Bernick’s Beverages, Village Lanes, Duluth/Superior Trophies & Awards, Rick Gondik Law Office, Dennis & Cathy Pattee, Rick’s Auto Body, Halvor Lines, ICO Pit Stop, Bullyan RV, the Powerhouse Bar, Como Oil & Propane, and the NAPA Auto Parts Stores of Duluth, Superior and Ashland.

Proctor to host $5,000 to win Mid-West Modified show!

AMSOIL, ABC, Hibbing and Proctor Announce Huge Midwest Modified Summer Nationals.

For Immediate Release – Duluth, MN – April 9, 2015

AMSOIL Speedway, ABC Raceway, Hibbing Raceway and Proctor Speedway announce a huge weekend event to their 2015 racing schedule.

The inaugural Midwest Modified Summer Nationals will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 14th. 15th,  and 16th 2015.

The Midwest Modified Summer Nationals will consist of three series points’ races for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds.

The weekend will kick off with at $2,000 to win race at AMSOIL Speedway.  Then the drivers actually get to choose to go to either ABC Raceway or Hibbing Raceway for the second night of the Summer Nationals.  ABC and Hibbing will enhance their purse to $600 to win at each racetrack.  The weekend then caps off at Proctor Speedway with the largest one-night pay day for a Midwest Modified in WISSOTA history.  The drivers will be racing for an unprecedented $5,000 to win race.

On top of the incredible payouts each night at the four tracks, the drivers will also be racing for a $4,000 series purse.  This will be a $1,000 to win purse, paying the top 10 in points for the weekend.

AMSOIL Speedway board member Joe Stariha said “Proctor Speedway board member Loren Inman came up with an idea to have a huge Midwest Modified race in Proctor, and when we finished our meeting we came up with an idea to make it a huge weekend race involving all four tracks.”  Stariha also says “You are starting to see some really big races for the Midwest Mods/B-Mods throughout the United States and even regionally now.  It’s a huge class of competitive drivers and we decided we want to give them a total weekend purse that has never been seen in WISSOTA.  If a driver were to sweep the three nights, they would walk away with $8.600.”

More details on the race will be released in the upcoming month.  We are also asking you to email Joe Stariha at If you plan on coming to any of the races that weekend as we would like to build a “who’s coming” webpage.

For any other information please email Joe or call him at 218-349-7367.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Midwest Modified Summer Nationals August 14-16th.
