Season opener Postponed to May 17th

Unfortunately I have to make a business decision I hate to make and didn’t want to make considering all of the hard work that has gone into getting ready for opening day. Proctor Speedway will be postponing our opening day until May 17th. My apologies go out to our loyal fans, who have been itching to see some racing at Proctor, our Drivers who will have to wait another week to show their talents on the track, and every one of the volunteers who have spent countless hours trying to get ready for this day. We look forward to seeing everyone next Sunday where hopefully we will have some better weather so everyone can join us for a great evening of racing. From everybody at Proctor Speedway Have a Happy Mothers Day!

Practice Day

Good things are happening at Proctor Speedway!!!

I am happy to announce we got our practice session in without too much of a glitch. Thank You to all the Volunteers and Employees who attended the meeting today. What a great turn out of Drivers and Fans watching the first turned laps on the Proctor Speedway for the 2015 Racing season.

Some great things to announce from the day is everyone’s hard work is paying off. The Transponder system which records lap times and drivers positions had come up from the track surface. It was reburied and worked great today while the drivers were practicing. The track held up nicely and only had a couple of semi rough patches, none of which were in the corners, so the new clay that was put down blended nicely over the winter. Last year as many of you know we lost connection to the announcing system on the whole backstretch, due to thieves. This was all replaced and tested today and it worked flawlessly, so everyone in the back should be able to hear all the racing announcements now. We also got to try out our added speakers in the Pits and our Drivers and Crews were able to hear announcements made by the staff loud and clear! Our remodel of the back concessions stand is coming along nicely and will be ready for opening day. We also have made some repairs on the front concessions stand and are ready to serve our valuable guests for all their food and beverage needs!

Thanks again to everyone for Supporting Proctor Speedway and we look forward to seeing you all at the races all year long.

Proctor to host $5,000 to win Mid-West Modified show!

AMSOIL, ABC, Hibbing and Proctor Announce Huge Midwest Modified Summer Nationals.

For Immediate Release – Duluth, MN – April 9, 2015

AMSOIL Speedway, ABC Raceway, Hibbing Raceway and Proctor Speedway announce a huge weekend event to their 2015 racing schedule.

The inaugural Midwest Modified Summer Nationals will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 14th. 15th,  and 16th 2015.

The Midwest Modified Summer Nationals will consist of three series points’ races for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds.

The weekend will kick off with at $2,000 to win race at AMSOIL Speedway.  Then the drivers actually get to choose to go to either ABC Raceway or Hibbing Raceway for the second night of the Summer Nationals.  ABC and Hibbing will enhance their purse to $600 to win at each racetrack.  The weekend then caps off at Proctor Speedway with the largest one-night pay day for a Midwest Modified in WISSOTA history.  The drivers will be racing for an unprecedented $5,000 to win race.

On top of the incredible payouts each night at the four tracks, the drivers will also be racing for a $4,000 series purse.  This will be a $1,000 to win purse, paying the top 10 in points for the weekend.

AMSOIL Speedway board member Joe Stariha said “Proctor Speedway board member Loren Inman came up with an idea to have a huge Midwest Modified race in Proctor, and when we finished our meeting we came up with an idea to make it a huge weekend race involving all four tracks.”  Stariha also says “You are starting to see some really big races for the Midwest Mods/B-Mods throughout the United States and even regionally now.  It’s a huge class of competitive drivers and we decided we want to give them a total weekend purse that has never been seen in WISSOTA.  If a driver were to sweep the three nights, they would walk away with $8.600.”

More details on the race will be released in the upcoming month.  We are also asking you to email Joe Stariha at If you plan on coming to any of the races that weekend as we would like to build a “who’s coming” webpage.

For any other information please email Joe or call him at 218-349-7367.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Midwest Modified Summer Nationals August 14-16th.
